Britain organized 96 cannonballs across the country to commemorate the life of Queen Elizabeth II.

At exactly 13:00 (19:00 Hanoi time), cannons started firing at many locations across the UK. Each cannon shot will be fired 10 seconds apart, with 96 shots representing the Queen's 96 years of life. Some of the sites for the cannon firing include Hyde Park in London, Tower of London, Cardiff Castle, Edinburgh Castle, Hillsborough Castle, York, Portsmouth and Gibraltar...

Cannon firing is a traditional ceremony to celebrate and honor important occasions for the British Royal Family. In Hyde Park, the ceremony was performed by the Royal Artillery Squad. Earlier in the afternoon of the same day, the Royal Artillery Squadron had left its base at Fort Wellington, near Buckingham Palace, to set up formations at the park.

The cannons from World War I were pulled by 36 horses. Six cannons were deployed towards the Queen's residence in London, where thousands of people were gathering to pay their respects.

Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8 at Balmoral Palace, Scotland, aged 96. She came to power in 1952 at the age of 25, after the death of her father, King George VI. In June, the United Kingdom celebrated her 70th anniversary of Platinum Reign, longer than any other monarch in the country's history.

Prince Charles, 73, inherited the throne, becoming King Charles III of Great Britain. Prince William, as heir to the throne, will receive the new title of Prince of Wales.

The Queen will be interred in a mausoleum at St George's Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle, next to 10 former British monarchs. The remains of her husband, Prince Philip, who died last April, will be moved from their original resting place at St George's Chapel to next to the Queen.
