Mr. Trump's predicted election victory is also seen as a victory for many Israelis, as he is very supportive of the country and has a close relationship with Prime Minister Netanyahu.
As the vote count began to favor Mr Trump, China said it hoped the two countries would "live in peace".

AP 's earlier projections showed Republicans would also control at least 51 seats in the US Senate, marking their first majority in the body in four years. The party is also likely to gain a majority in the House of Representatives.
Republican control of both houses of Congress and the White House will significantly increase Mr. Trump's power, making it easier to implement policy proposals into law.
